GABBY LONG
Painter and ceramicist based in Colorado, USA.
My work uses landscapes and rooms as a metaphoric connection to built, dreamed, and remembered headspace. I illustrate household objects, natural debris (such as rocks, twigs, flowers, and plants), and imagined creatures to reference both the real and surreal. Lighting and plants can make objects (and the space around them) seem inhabited. Texture and pattern add interest and continuity. In my continued studio practice, I am experimenting with how 2D and 3D elements impact both physical space and the viewer's imagination.
